Randwick Race 9 – Huetor
I followed Huetor through his debut Australian campaign where the Snowden European went 3 from 3 and I’m very keen to stick here after what I saw at a recent Randwick trial. He settled at the rear and worked into the trial nicely between horses before producing a blistering final 200m under not much pressure and ultimately made horses like Festival Dancer and Young Rascal look average. Before that I wouldn’t have envisioned myself backing him over 1400m but what we saw over the 1200m trial was enough to make me believe he’s come back even better and can get the job done 1st-up on the path to what looks to be a Doomben Cup campaign.

Randwick Race 10 – Fashchanel
Fashchanel is another returning from a spell who I liked at the trials. The O’Shea mare worked strongly to the line behind tearaway winner Satin Ribbons. She is 4:2-1-0 1st-up and also owns impressive stats at the track, distance and on soft surfaces. I love that J Mac sticks after the trial and I don’t see the outside gate as a hinderance but more a positive on what should be a chopped out Randwick straight come the last race of the carnival.
