Hero In The Wind

I thought there was definitely something there out of the debut run. Slow to begin from a wide gate, dropped out, wanted to lay in badly once they straightened but thought when he finally balanced up he hit the line as good as anything. Blinkers go on here from barrier 4 in a race devoid of speed. If Laqdar can take up a more forward position I thought there was a bit to like out of the debut run, the Blinkers hopefully assist in getting him to go straight. Yard is firing.

1 Unit WIN

There’s no speed here, so O’Donnell should roll to the top and control very easily with So Likable. Couldn’t get across when a beaten favourite last start at Kal, caught off the track throughout and battled on well to still run 2nd. With the race under his control and the winkers going on he should be hard to get past, has done his best racing when able to find the fence.

Magic Whistle comes out of a really ugly, middlingly run maiden over the trip, drew 14/14 in a race dominated by those on top of a dawdling tempo, had nothing to take him into the race but once he balanced up he really hit the line strongly, running the fastest L200 split of that event. The start prior was tested in 3yo grade when not disgraced behind My Marlaina, who has since utterly bolted in at Geraldton. Draws far more favourably for Azzopardi in 3 here, who doesn’t have to drop right back out to last. I would have preferred a mile for him, but the long straight of the Scarpside track will definitely assist.

Bent Leg Boris hit the line very well in a really strong maiden behind Rebelzone (won again since), Superiorize and Justamiddy (also won since) before last start going to that same race over the 1400m as MW, thought he was perhaps entitled to do more late? Soft run with cover in transit and 8th fastest L200m of race. Do they roll forward here? Think its their best bet.
