FREE: NSW Provincial & Country Service – Scone 3/8

We get a nice midweek country meeting at Scone. A little bit of rain is forecasted for the morning (3-8mm) with the sun coming out for the arvo.

Scone Race 1 – Triangulum

This Gelding has recently joined Nathan Doyle yard. He ran 5th at Tamworth over 1400m in his first and only start after this trainer change. However, this was his first time with Blinkers off and after going back from a wide draw he ran home 4L quicker than the class average.

Up in distance to the 1600 looks a real positive. Picks up 1.5kg but should be easily offset by the booking of a top jockey and a good gate.

Scone Race 2 – Geisal

This colt ran an impressive race on debut finishing 3rd 0.2L despite running wide without cover and being unwanted by the market ($61-$91).

He has trialled better for a return this prep and resumes in country grade. Stays at 1300 on Soft with Mikayla Weir still in the saddle. Draws a nice gate here and will have options to lead or follow Decadent

Scone Race 4 – Mackinaw

Faded late first up at Moree to finish 2nd over 900m. Second up last prep showed improvement on the back of his debut effort to finish 6th of 7 in provincial company over 1200m. Faded late running the last 200 5L slower than average.

Second up here with a top jockey, soft draw and blinkers first time looks a good recipe.

Scone Race 5 – Empowerment

She has been firing this prep especially on the soft. Has won two in a row on soft ground and a 4th first up after travelling wide without cover. Backed $10-5.5 on that occasion

This race maps ideally for her from the soft draw and gives Mikayla options. Gets all favours and looks the one to beat.

Tip: 1u Unit Win Empowerment @$3.25 With TopSport

Scone Race 7 – Miss Kingston

She has come back very speedy this prep and showed a blistering turn of foot last start. She is getting fitter for every run. Third-up for the first time and can only expect further improvement.

She’s 3rd up here over an ideal distance but out of maiden company. She draws wide in the chute but could be allow her to get onto better parts of the track this late in the meeting.

Tip: 1u Unit Win Miss Kingston @$3.6 With TopSport
