We’ve found a couple nice runners for the country meeting at Scone on Tuesday. Track is currently a good 4 but the weather forecasted could see racing on a wet track. The rail is true. There will be some headwind in the straight 20-25kmh, but nothing over the top.

Scone Race 2 – Diwali Lights
Resuming from a let up from 1 start off the back of a 510 day spell. Came to AUS on the back of an unsuccessful spell in Hong Kong. Resumed well under the new stable finishing 5th in this grade on heavy. Lacked speed through the line as he worked hard early after a slow start.
Lots of speed here with Nadaraja, Hauraki Gulf and Hiraishin (top 3 in the market). Diwali Lights maps nicely in behind the spot and could have the last say if they go to quick upfront. Nice price this.

Scone Race 3 – Smokeshow
3rd start here and facing easier opposition. Has run two very strong races in tougher company putting up very strong figures.
Tricky draw but without much speed she can settle close here. Both runs have been on dry track but has won a trial on soft. Her last 2 runs have been very strong for this class and is the one to beat here.

Scone Race 4 – Poseidon Ruler
Placed at $2.5 last start in same class, distance and going. Went back from the wide gate and ran out the mile well for the first time. Broke Maiden start before at $1.5 over 1400 and placed prior at $2.5 over 1300.
Lee Magorrian takes the ride. Nice map – handy in behind Geisel. Have to be on him at this price the way he’s racing and the set up he gets. Could easily make a case for him at single figure odds.

Scone Race 6 – Freedom Square
Resuming as a gelding off the back of a pair of solid trials and a strong last prep. Won first up on debut here over 11500m. Second up running 2nd 0.2L here over 1300. That was a very strong effort and backed up by very good late sectionals.
Aaron Bullock takes the ride and has ridden him for 2/3 trials. Should roll forward from the tough draw and be handy. He’s had a couple of minor gear changes and has been gelded. First up may be a negative but should still be too classy for these. He is one to follow for the future but is very well placed here too.

Scone Race 7 – Moralist
Fourth up. Last start 4th 1.8L at Hawksbury over 1100m after being taken back from a wide barrier. Prior to that 4th 4.4L at Wyong – Slowly away and keen.
Faces easier opposition here and is back to the 1000m. Nice draw and gets Aaron Bullock in the saddle. Conservative stake due to the rain forecasted and he has put up average figures on wet in the past. $10 is appealing and happy to take that gamble.
Ballistic Moon
Third up. Last start winner her over 900 on soft at $5.5. First up last and sent to trial – SP $3.7.
Up to the 1000m and Alysha Collet retains the ride. Sticky draw but has good gate speed and only one 90 degree turn to manage. Alysha could also steer them onto a better part of the track this late.
