FREE Greyhound Racing Selections – Healesville 5th September 2021
September 5, 2021
It’s a cracking day of straight track racing from Healesville as the Healesville Cup Heats showcase a strong 12 race card.
Race 1
Opening race of the day and it presents to be reasonably straight forward. #7 Mr Dazzling was excellent on debut when running 2nd to Nike Apache. This dog ran BON and was competitive in the Maiden Final. 3.92/16.93s should translate into a winning run here. #1 Mayfair Ronnie is on debut and must be respected. Is closely related to Hill Top Jonah who is currently one of the quickest dogs down the Healesville straight. #3 Our Dreamer was heavily backed on debut. Showed good gate speed but knocked up fairly quickly. Knockout hope.
Numbers
- 1st – #7 Mr Dazzling
- 2nd – #1 Mayfair Ronnie
- 3rd – #3 Our Dreamer
No Bets.
Race 2
#3 Ms Lucky Leaves is well down in grade here in this Restricted 1-3 Win race. She finds herself boxed around dogs that have never run at the track and she has shown she can reel off a 3.85/3.90 1st split which should have her off and gone here. #8 Assume Kealy was a good winner LTO when hitting the line hard. Drawn tricky out wide and could get caught up in some bother. #7 Mav’s Magic has been in good form, will have to step up again.
Numbers
- 1st – #3 Ms Lucky Leaves
- 2nd – #8 Assume Kealy
- 3rd – #7 Mav’s Magic
#3 Ms Lucky Leaves 1u Win @ $2.50

Race 3
Tight tussle between the top few in betting. #1 Col Cowboy has been running admirably, just outclassed in previous races. Gets his chance today from box 1 to win. #5 Westar Misty ran a scorching 16.55s last week and will only appreciate the further 50m. #8 Go Forward Tink brings a picket fence from QLD and clearly needs an outside box judging by his 1st run here. Can go well.
Numbers
- 1st – #1 Col Cowboy
- 2nd – #5 Westar Misty
- 3rd – #8 Go Forward Tink
No Bets.
Race 4
#7 Tiggerlong Tonk is the clear class of the field here. In 2 races here he has broken 17 seconds from box 8 and ran a luckless 5th in the 2020 Healesville Cup. Drawn perfectly out wide and a deserving favourite. #3 Dynamic Prince was excellent in winning on Tuesday. I’m a big fan of this dog and he is set to be a star here. It could all be too quick for him, but he might just be a freak. #1 Dream Wizard other class runner in the race.
Numbers
- 1st – #7 Tiggerlong Tonk
- 2nd – #1 Dream Wizard
- 3rd – #3 Dynamic Prince
No Bets.
Race 5
#6 Hadouken continues to improve in every run down the straight. He finished 3rd in The Arrow last weekend with his 19.11s. Prone to look for the inside rail, could find bother. I’ve seen enough traits in #1 Quintana Bale to tell me he could be an effective Healesville dog. I’m expecting carnage outwide with dogs going left & right. He can mind his own business following the rail. #7 Shavano brings SA form, don’t take lightly.
Numbers
- 1st – #1 Quintana Bale
- 2nd – #6 Hadouken
- 3rd – #7 Shavano
#1 Quintana Bale 0.5u Win, 0.5u Place @ TOP TOTE/SP

Race 6
#8 Pirate Pete clear standout in this field. Form behind Dr Tucker reads well, times around 19.1s are outstanding. Should be winning. #1 Rocket Boy is in fine form, just needs to produce that at Healesville and he can be in the placings. #6 Rear View Mirror outclassed here but ultra-consistent and can run a drum.
Numbers
- 1st – #8 Pirate Pete
- 2nd – #1 Rocket Boy
- 3rd – #6 Rear View Mirror
No Bets.
Race 7
#3 Green Blazer strikes me as the best dog in this race. Just needs some clear air to produce his best which can win this race. #7 Blackpool Flash brings the hottest formline currently at Healesville running 2nd to Hill Top Jonah. In saying this, he does crash across looking for the rail so he could find himself in a world of pain. #2 Got the Torque, never raced here, looks like it will suit him.
Numbers
- 1st – #3 Green Blazer
- 2nd – #2 Got the Torque
- 3rd – #7 Blackpool Flash
No Bets.
Race 8
#5 Ferdinand Boy is the best dog in this field by someway on exposed form. He meets 2 dogs that have run slick times but are still on the way up and he looks to have too much class/experience here. His 1st sect splits of 6.45-6.50s should see him cross here and get a clear run. #2 Aston Geneve hasn’t put a foot wrong in 5 starts to date but faces her stiffest test to date. Would need to improve again. #4 Dr Slats is a dog for the future and can figure in the placings.
Numbers
- 1st – #5 Ferdinand Boy
- 2nd – #2 Aston Geneve
- 3rd – #4 Dr Slats
#5 Ferdinand Boy 1u Win @ $2.20

Race 9
#2 Hill Top Jonah is the hottest dog at Healesville. His time of 19.03s last week was the fastest of the day and he would have won the $20k Healesville Arrow if he was in the race. He’s drawn perfect to cross here and be hard to run down. #6 Zambora Lou is an incredibly quick dog and will try his best to cross the favourite here, I just don’t see it happening and for that reason she will be against it. #4 Utah Ghost was thought to be the best 350m dog at Healesville, don’t disrespect him. #8 Aston Merit is the best youngster coming through. Shame he lines up against 3 champions. Follow him.
Numbers
- 1st – #2 Hill Top Jonah
- 2nd – #4 Utah Ghost
- 3rd – #6 Zambora Lou
No Bets.
Race 10
#2 Charlie’s Jar is the new kid on the block at Healesville. He brings strong Sydney form @ Bulli with his times only being fair. 2 runs here and both times he has wanted to hug the rail. He gets a better box here and if he can just hold his line without bumping across too early, he has the power to break away from #1 Wake Up Dusty. He was unlucky last start, copped a fair bit of interference. Can make amends if he can replicate his run 2 back. #7 Apollo One drawn well outwide and has talent.
Numbers
- 1st – #2 Charlie’s Jar
- 2nd – #1 Wake Up Dusty
- 3rd – #7 Apollo One
No Bets.
Race 11
Top 2 in betting faced off last time with #2 That’s Easy getting the better of #8 Boombox Hammer. I’m expecting a form reversal here as Boombox finally gets an outside box. In both starts to date he has drawn box 1 and crashed across causing himself to lose multiple lengths. Now from box 8 he can mind his own business outwide and will prove hard to run down. #4 Aston Matrice the blowout.
Numbers
- 1st – #8 Boombox Hammer
- 2nd – #2 That’s Easy
- 3rd – #4 Aston Matrice
#8 Boombox Hammer 1u Win @ $2.00

Race 12
#4 Notorious returned to the winners stall last Sunday with an all the way win here scoring in 16.63s. With an inside box vacant he is sure to find the rails and if he does, he will take some catching. Can be a touch vulnerable late. #7 Super Foot is drawn perfectly in a wide box and is strong towards the finish. Can get box 4 late. #8 Slingshot Reaper has run some cracking races here and wouldn’t surprise.
Numbers
- 1st – #7 Super Foot
- 2nd – #4 Notorious
- 3rd – #8 Slingshot Reaper
No Bets.
Today’s Bets
