Five players inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame

The National Football League announced on Friday the inductees into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2023. According to Josh Dubow of the Associated Press, the inductees are Cleveland Browns center Joe Thomas of Brookfield, Wisconsin, New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware of Auburn, Alabama, Miami Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas of Pampa, Texas, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber of Roanoke, Virginia.
Joe Thomas was the third overall pick in the NFL Draft. He was selected to the Pro Bowl 10 straight seasons from 2007 to 2016, and was honoured even though he was on an awful Browns team in 2017 that failed to win a single game.
Revis played 11 NFL seasons with the Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2007 to 2017. He had 496 combined tackles (411 solo tackles and 85 assisted tackles), nine tackles for a loss, four quarterback hits, 29 interceptions for 466 yards, three pick sixes, 139 pass deflections, four forced fumbles, 12 fumble recoveries for 28 yards and two sacks. Revis was selected to the Pro Bowl seven times (2008-2011, and 2015 with the Jets, 2013 with the Buccaneers and 2014 with the Patriots), led the NFL with 31 pass deflections with the Jets in 2009, and won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2015.
Ware played 12 NFL seasons with the Cowboys and Broncos from 2005 to 2016. He was was selected to the Pro Bowl seven straight years with the Cowboys from 2006 to 2012, and another two seasons with the Broncos in 2014 and 2015. In his career, Ware had 657 combined tackles (505 solo tackles and 152 assisted tackles), 171 tackles for a loss, three interceptions for 44 yards and one touchdown, 25 pass deflections, 35 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries for 91 yards and two touchdowns, and 138.5 sacks. In 2008, Ware led the NFL with 27 tackles for a loss, and 20 sacks. In 2010, he led the NFL with 21 tackles for a loss, and 15.5 sacks, and in 2011, led the NFL with 26 tackles for a loss. Ware won a Super Bowl with the Broncos with fellow Hall of Famer Peyton Manning as the quarterback in 2015.

Zack Thomas played 13 NFL seasons with the Dolphins (1996 to 2007), and one year with the Cowboys (2008). In 184 games, he has 1734 combined tackles (1107 solo tackles and 627 assisted tackles), 17 interceptions for 170 yards and four touchdowns, 16 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries for 29 yards and 20.5 sacks. Thomas led the NFL with 156 combined tackles in 2002 and 165 combined tackles in 2006. He was selected to the Pro Bowl five straight seasons from 1999 to 2003, and again in 2005 and 2006.
Barber played 16 seasons with the Buccaneers from 1997 to 2012. He won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay in 2003. In 241 games, Barber had 1251 combined tackles (1044 solo tackles and 207 assisted tackles), one safety, 47 interceptions for 923 yards, eight pick sixes, 15 forced fumbles, 12 fumble recoveries for 90 yards and four touchdowns, and 28 sacks.
