Randwick  Race 2 – Robodira

Robodira’s run was full of merit in the Sweet Embrace Stakes finishing 4^th behind Four Moves Ahead and I don’t think the fillies she faces today are quite as strong.

From a wide gate she jumped well but could not slot in and eventually Brenton Avdulla found himself 3-wide midfield. She stuck to her guns up the straight with the talented Mallory only just managing to pass her for 3^rd place.

She gets the gun run from barrier 4 today and should be in the finish to secure a Golden Slipper start.

Randwick Race 7 – Sweet Deal

The feature G1 Coolmore is without a doubt the hardest race on the card with a big field full of chances. It presents as a possible quaddie killer with multiple chances in the 18 horse field.

I’m going with the underrated Sweet Deal at a handsome $19. After winning the Hunter in the spring, she returned in the Guy Walter Stakes where she led only to fade over the last 100m to finish 5^th.

John Thompson is renowned for leaving improvement in his horses and I expect her to improve sharply after that run. Leading isn’t her usual pattern of racing and I’m hoping that is the case here because I expect there to be a solid tempo with the big field.

From barrier 2 she can land just off the speed and be a stronger through the line with more fitness under her belt.

Randwick Race 8 – Criaderas

Criaderas was awesome 1^st up over 1300m, closing off with some sensational final 200m sectionals. 1500M with 53kg on his back looks like a great stepping-stone.

There is a slight query over the lack of pace in the race which will suit Melbourne raider Buffalo River but I am confident the likes of Greyworm and I Am Superman will ensure there’s enough pressure to allow Criaderas to rattle home over them late.
