Cranbourne Preview: Bedggood’s Has Placed A Lot Of Effort Into Cranbourne Cup

Up and coming trainer Gavin Bedggood would love nothing more than to win his hometown Cranbourne Cup and he believes his tough mare No Effort is ready to give the event a big shake.

Last year No Effort finished fifth in the Cranbourne Cup but Bedggood felt he made a mistake in her preparation.

This year he told Racing.Com he had tackled things differently and she will go into the race fresh while last year she competed in it after having had a strenuous campaign.

No Effort hasn’t started since she finished 12th in the Heatherlie Handicap over 1700 metres on August 27.

No Effort will be ridden by Michael Dee and the eight-year-old mare has won 11 races.

Bedggood said No Effort races well fresh and he believes she’s ready to perform well.

“She’s had three weeks in a paddock and I’ve taken her along slowly. We’re putting all of our eggs in one basket. She’s performed well off a break before and we’ve got a good handle on her.”

Bedggood has managed to secure the services of the in-form Michael Dee for No Effort.
No Effort is a $17 chance with TopSport. $4.60 equal favourites are Uncle Bryn and Visinari.
