Carmelo Anthony to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame

According to Rogers Sportsnet on Wednesday, Carmelo Anthony will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts in 2025. Anthony played 19 seasons in the NBA as a forward from 2003 to 2022.
Anthony played eight seasons with the Denver Nuggets from 2003 to 2011. He then spent seven seasons with the New York Knicks from 2011 to 2017, one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017 to 2018, one season with the Houston Rockets from 2018 to 2019, two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers from 2019 to 2021, and one season with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2021 to 2022.
A 10-time All-Star, Anthony was honoured with the Nuggets in 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2009-10. He was all also honoured with the Knicks for six straight seasons from 2012 to 2017. When Anthony was traded from the Nuggets to the Knicks in 2010-11, he was also an All-Star.
During the 2012-13 season in New York, Anthony led the NBA with 28.7 points per game. In all, he played in 1260 NBA regular season games. Anthony averaged 22.5 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, and 2.7 assists per game, and had a field goal percentage of .447, three-point percentage of .355, and a free throw percentage of .814.
At the collegiate level, Anthony guided Syracuse University to a National Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball championship. Also with the Orangemen, Anthony was the 2003 Final Four Most Valuable Player.
On the international side, Anthony won three gold medals for the United States in men’s basketball. He was on the American teams that placed first at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
