Canterbury Best Selection & Value Play 30/4

Sydney midweek racing returns to Canterbury. Our analyst has selected a Hawkes 3yo bringing form lines much stronger than midweek company and a Price filly that was a big winner on this track 1st up.

Best Selection: R5- Brave One

Brave One returns from a spell as a gelding. He was a 0.8L winner on debut at Randwick on a Heavy 9 defeating Mayfair, that form will hold up here. He was a little off his next 2 starts but looks to have returned in nice order since having the ultimate gear change. He really caught the eye closing off nicely when 0.3L 2nd in a recent Rosehill trial.

Value Selection: R8- Island Dec

Island Dec is a really classy filly from the Price yard. She was terrific recording a 0.2L victory over 1250m here at Canterbury 1st up. She was fair last in much tougher company in the G3 PJ Bell Stakes at Randwick. She gets a nice run from Gate 5 in a race with those on top of the speed will likely be tiring late.
