According to the Associated Press on Monday, the Chicago Bulls fired two key members of their front office in General Manager Marc Eversley and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas.
Eversley, a native of London, England, who was raised in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, had been the general manager of the Bulls since 2020. Eversley was one of two Canadian general managers in the National Basketball Association. The other is Onsi Saleh of the Atlanta Hawks, who was raised in Edmonton, Alberta.Â
Eversley was the Bulls general manager since 2020. In 478 games, Eversley had a record of 224 wins and 254 losses for a winning percentage of .469.
In the last three seasons, the Bulls were able to get into the play-in tournament. But they were unable to be one of the top two teams from the Eastern Conference in the play-in tournament.
Karnisovas had also been with the Bulls. As a player, he won two Olympic bronze medals for his native country of Lithuania. They came in 1992 in Barcelona and in 1996 in Atlanta.
The firings should simply not be a surprise whatsoever. In 2025-26, the Bulls are 20 games below the .500 mark at 29 wins and 49 losses for a winning percentage of .372. They are 12th in the East, and mathematically out of the play-in tournament. Lately, the Bulls have not been good at all. They have lost seven straight games and only won one game in their last 10 games.
Eversley is the third general manager for a major professional sports team to lose his job in the last week. In the National Hockey League, the Toronto Maple Leafs have fired Brad Treliving. and the New Jersey Devils have fired Tom Fitzgerald.
