Brooklyn Nets 2024-25 Predicted Finish, Key Acquisitions & Fantasy Stars
October 4, 2024

The National Basketball Association is 19 days away, and it is once again time to preview every NBA franchise. I will be covering the teams in the Eastern Conference and my colleague, Joel Beatton, will feature teams in the Western Conference. Today we are featuring the Brooklyn Nets.
Key Acquisitions
From a player personnel perspective, the most notable acquisition for the Nets in the offseason was Croatian forward Bojan Bogdanovic. On July 6, Bogdanovic was traded to the Nets from the New York Knicks in a blockbuster deal that saw small forward Mikal Bridges of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania be traded to New York. This is the second time that Bogdanovic has been with the Nets, as he was also there from 2014 to 2017, Since then, the 6’7″ forward has played with the Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons and Knicks.
This past season, Bogdanovic shared his time with the Pistons and Knicks. He averaged 15.2 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, 1.7 assists per game, along with a field goal percentage of .454, three-point percentage of .398, and free throw percentage of .785.
The Nets also hired a new head coach, in Jordi Fernandez of Badalona, Spain. Over the last two seasons, Fernandez was an associate coach for the Sacramento Kings and head coach of Team Canada internationally. At the 2023 World Cup in Manila, Philippines, Canada claimed their first medal in the history of the tournament, as they shocked the United States 127-118 in overtime to win bronze.
Fantasy Stars
The Nets do not have any player ranked in the top 10 in fantasy basketball position heading into 2024-25.
Projected Finish
The loss of Bridges is significant for the Nets, especially when he averaged 19.6 points per game. It appears Brooklyn is headed for a rebuild. Watch Bogdanovic, Cameron Johnson and Dorian Finney-Smith be traded before the deadline, A last place spot in the Atlantic Division is in store.
