Brendan Allen submitted Christian Leroy Duncan with a rear-naked choke at 2:46 of round five to win the UFC Fight Night main event at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
Allen closed the show on Saturday (Sunday afternoon AEDT), taking the judges out of it after a back-and-forth middleweight scrap, UFC.com reported. The finish was also logged in Combat Press’s full UFC Vegas 122 results.
UFC.com said Duncan had the better of the opening round from range, before an accidental eye poke and a strong grappling round for Allen in the second swung momentum. Allen worked well on the ground in the third; Duncan found more success standing in the fourth. In the fifth, Allen secured a takedown, pulled Duncan into him and locked in the rear-naked choke for the stoppage at 2:46.
The win pushed Allen’s streak to four. UFC.com said he is now 16-4 inside the Octagon, tied for the second-most middleweight wins in UFC history, and called for a step up against champion Sean Strickland or former champion Dricus Du Plessis.

Loopy Godinez defeated Ketlen Souza by the same 29-28 scoreline on all three cards. UFC.com said Souza appeared to have the early power edge, but Godinez took rounds one and three on every scorecard and earned the win with her parents in attendance.
