Our analyst has reviewed the replays and sectionals from Saturday’s Five Diamonds meeting at Rosehill and has black booked a pair of runners. A mare that returned to form from the Ryan & Alexiou yard and looks set to go on with it injury free and an unlucky Waller runner that looks very progressive.

Arctic Glamour

The Ryan & Alexiou mare sprung back to form with a brilliant 0.3L win in the Hot Danish. The writing was on the wall early in the race when she pinged the gates and settled outside the leader before holding off a fast finishing Bauhinia to salute at a massive $41 SP. It was interesting to hear from trainer Gerald Ryan post race that this was the first time she had returned without any feet issues. The blinkers going on for the first time seemed to switch her on for the first part of the race. She looks capable of picking off some nice races as the better horses go to the paddock.

Frosty Girl

It was a horror show for the short priced Waller favourite in the last race of the day. There was a lot of online criticism of the out of form Joao Moreira but there was not a lot he could’ve done jumping from the inside gate and settling in her usual off midfield position. He had a lap full of horse on turning but nothing opened up in front of him. She was taken across heels at the 250m only for a struggling Mawjood to shut the door. When she finally got a run at the 80m she charged through a small gap to finish 1.3L 3rd.

Moving forward she will be definitely better suited to drawing a middle gate with her gat back race style. She will be well found wherever she lobs next but with how progressive she is it should be an opportunity for punters to get their cash back. There is another BM78 over 1400m at Kembla on Gong Day where she will have to step up against the boys but will be compensated at the weights and will be well suited by getting to the outside of the large Kembla track.
