Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 5/7

The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from Saturday’s Rosehill meeting. Our analyst has found a Snowden 2yo that looks ready to be competitive in black type races in the spring and a Baker gelding that should prove hard to beat wherever he lands 3rd up.

Raging Force

The Snowden gelding looks one to follow into some bigger 2yo races in the spring. Tommy Berry settled him behind the leader and when he came across heels he exploded away to record an easy 2.1L victory. They did benefit from first use of the track but still recorded 0.36s quicker time than the much more seasoned Storm the Ramparts later in the day.

Robusto

The Baker 5yo saw no luck running up the back of horses in the Listed Winter Stakes. When he finally saw clear running at the 150m he charged home to finish 1.4L 2nd. He arguably wins if Parr took the risk of taking the inside run at the top of the straight. I love the guide that the Baker team thought he was going well enough to run him in the G1 Stradbroke 1st up. He looks hard to beat wherever he heads 3rd up.
