Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 5/11
November 8, 2022
Our form analyst has looked over the replays & sectional times from Golden Eagle day and has placed his list of horses you must follow below.
BARBER
It’s no surprise TopSport has the James Cummings trained Barber as a $13 second favourite for the 2023 Golden Slipper as on what he’s shown so far he can win it. Racing NSW stewards noted he reared at the start and lost two lengths and he was also hampered with 150 metres to go. As a result it was a massive performance to come from a long way back to win the $1 million Golden Gift which is a style which is often to the fore in the Golden Slipper. He ran his last 600m in 33.86 seconds.
MORE SECRETS
She’s always shown potential but looks ready to deliver based on her third behind Sheeza Belter in the Hot Danish. She was held up for a run and finished on strongly when she got into the clear. She’s only had two starts this time in and the best is yet to come for Team Hawkes. She was the lowest rated horse going into the race.

Victorian visitor was beaten for speed and was never a winning chance but the way he finished off for fifth in the Five Diamonds suggested he’s looking for further ground. Don’t drop off him. A race like the Ballarat Cup is in his wheelhouse.
