Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 31/5
June 1, 2025
The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from Saturday’s Rosehill meeting. Our analyst has found a lightly raced Snowden 3yo, a Pride gelding crying out for a firmer track and a Godolphin 4yo ready to string some wins together.
Hopper
The Snowden 3yo stepped up to Saturday grade at start 4 on the back of a tough midweek win and looks a future winner after enduring a tough 3-wide run and still battling right to the line to finish 0.7L 2nd. He looked the winner at the top of the straight but was unable to close the 1L gap Mickey’s Medal had.

Little Cointreau
The Pride gelding sat 3-wide with cover and recorded a solid 0.5L 3rd. The effort was impressive after his trainer had declared prior to the race he will be much better on top of the ground. He is now 4 runs into his prep and will be crying out for a Good to Soft surface in a fortnight.Â
Kerguelen
The Godolphin 4yo returned with an impressive 0.4L x 2.8L win 1st up over 1200m. They ran 0.36s quicker than the fillies and mares in the final race. He will no doubt take improvement from that run and looks capable of stringing wins together this prep. It should also pay to stick with runner up Brave One with the big gap back to 3rd.Â
