The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from Saturday’s Golden Rose meeting at Rosehill. Our analyst has picked out 3 runners that shouldn’t be far from the winners circle next start.

Meridiana

The Sargent mare returned with a stylish win in Midway company. After settling at the rear she produced a powerful finish down the outside to win by 0.5L. She will improve off that run and looks capable of being competitive in stronger company.

Beiwacht

The Golden Rose winner was outstanding leading all the way recording a new Track Record. He pinched a 2L lead on Wodeton on the turn and extended it to 4.1L by the time they crossed the line. His final 100m was his best suggesting he may be better placed heading to the G1 Caulfield Guineas rather than dropping back to 1200m for the Coolmore.

Roselyn’s Star

It should pay to stick with the O’Shea & Charlton 4yo. He settled slightly further back in the field than usual in 5th position on the back of a hot tempo and found himself full of momentum but in an awkward position from the 350m to 300m before getting clear. The slight hold up arguably cost him the race as he was ran down by the winner having an uninterrupted run to finish 0.2L 2nd. They ran 1.01s quicker than the Listed Heritage Stakes.
