The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from Saturday’s Rosehill meeting. Our analyst has found a trio of runners that should be tough to beat wherever they head next start.
First Landing
The Sprague 4yo looks a future Highway winner after working wide midfield the trip but still being brave enough to fight out the finish before the tough run told the final 50m to finish 0.3L 2nd with the 3rd horse 1.5L further back. He wins if he is able to slot in during the run. He was 1.1L 2nd to Storm the Ramparts in much stronger company the start prior. Connections will be keen to collect some Highway prize money in the future.Â
Tuileries
The wide gate was the difference today. Sherry did his best to slot in around midfield but was forced to go back to the rear to find cover after the first 150m. She was still caught 3-wide but didn’t have to do it facing the breeze and let down strongly to finish 0.7L 4th with too much to do. If she can draw a gate, she should be winning in similar company next start before she likely targets from black type over the beginning of the spring carnival.Â
Corniche
The Godolphin 4yo returned from a long spell after having bone chips removed and looks to be in for a great prep. He settled off midfield and hit the line nicely to finish 0.3L 3rd. I expect him to take great improvement off that run and he looks one to follow 2nd up.
