Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Rosehill 11/10
October 13, 2025

The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from Rosehill’s meeting headlined by the G2 Hill Stakes. Our analyst wants to follow a Snowden colt that had zero luck and two other runners that looks to have wins ahead of them.
Beadman
No one missed the unlucky run of the hulking Snowden colt yesterday. He jumped well and settled one back but had to deal with race favourite Marhoona putting the breaks on and coming back in his face whilst eventual winner Hidden Motive cruised up to control on his own.He was again all over Marhoona’s heels at the top of the straight and didn’t see clear running until the 150m when he flashed home to finish 0.2L 2nd. He wins with even luck and I expected the form from the race to hold up as they ran 0.07s quicker than a quality field of mares in the Nivision, which was run at a cracking tempo.
Being a large colt he should strip fitter for that run and be ready to peak 3rd up where he’ll be well found wherever he goes. I’m hoping they target something slightly easier than the G1 Coolmore from a betting perspective.Â
Gangsta Granny
The Hawkes mare has to now be respected as a potential G1 winner after her 0.06L win in the G2 Nivision that was much better than it will read in the form guide. She settled 3rd behind Bonita Queen setting a red hot tempo. She found herself in the unfavourable position of having to cart the field up to the tiring leader at the top of the strauight and was entitled to throw in the towel when Monte Supreme and More Territories were rocketing home from well back in the field. Instead she found another gear and held on in a close photo. From that run I feel like being stretched out to 1400m for the first time is well within her reach, which makes the G2 Invitation look really achievable in a fortnight’s time.

General Salute
The lightly raced Ryan & Alexiou 5yo has always shown a high level of potential and looks to be hitting his straps 15 starts into his career after an unlucky 1.3L 3rd in the Alan Brown. He settled in an off pace position on the back of and eventually inside winner Headley Grange on straightening. He still hasn’t seen daylight and with even luck it’s a near certainty he wins. He’s filled placings in all 3 starts in strong company this prep. If they choose to head to the Five Diamonds in a fortnight he may be a risk at 1500m but has to be considered off that run.Â
