The replays and sectionals have been reviewed from Saturday’s meeting at Randwick.Â
Hereward
Hereward looks one to follow progressing through the benchmark grades after an impressive 1.4L win over a mile at Randwick. He settled 3rd and took a run up the inside in inferior ground but looked nothing but the winner once he hit the lead at the 300m. It’s always a sign of a god horse that can go straight from maiden company to winning a BM72 in Saturday grade.Â

It was a tough watch for those that backed the Baker mare 2nd up over 1400m. She was in an awkward position locked away on heels after turning and every time Anna Roper found clear running the gaps closed. When she finally found clear running at the 100m she charged home to finish 0.9L 2nd in a race she wins with even luck.Â

Cool Jakey
The Pride gelding got an easy time of it in front and worked through his gears nicely to record a 1.5L win. There is still plenty of upside for him 3rd up and beyond as he usually gains a couple of lengths with the blinkers going on. He also ticked the Randwick box being his first win from 11 starts. He will head to Queensland for the carnival and should be very tough to beat with the blinkers going on if he can find a race without too much pressure up front.Â

Bartolf
The O’Shea & Charlton 4yo has been somewhat of a sucker for followers mainly due to his race pattern of settling pattern but he looks ready to get the job done stepping out to a mile on a big track next start. He settled at the rear from a wide gate in the final race at Randwick on Saturday and was last in an awkward spot at the top of the straight. He raced in restricted room for the majority of the straight but still managed to hit the line nicely to finish 1.4L 3rd.Â
