The replays and sectional times from Randwick’s Spring Champion Stakes meeting have been reviewed. Our analyst has black booked a Snowden 2yo that was a real eye-catcher with no luck in running and an undefeated Waller colt that is flying.

Pearl of Dubai

The Snowden 2yo was outstanding in the Kirkham Plate. She settled 3-wide without cover midfield but still managed to let down strongly down the outside to finish 0.3L 2nd with a 1L gap back to 3rd. She should be hard to beat moving if with the right run and potentially sticking to fillies company. A step up in trip would benefit too.

The Waller colt really impressed with his 1.4L win in the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes. He was great breaking his maiden at Canterbury back in July and whilst I picked him on top I regret not backing him as I was expecting improvment to come. He settled 2 pairs back on the rail and had drawn level with the leader by the top of the rise. He looked in trouble when Pallaton, whose desire has to be questioned, loomed up outside him. It was great to see him really extend when challenged to come away for a 1.4L win. He looks to have more stakes wins in him this prep.
