Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Randwick 20/12

The replays and sectionals have been reviewed from Saturday’s Randwick meeting. Our analyst is keen to follow a lightly raced Archibald filly and a Baker stalwart that put in a tough on-speed run that should be ready to win next start.Â
Shady Road
The Archibald filly’s 0.3L 2nd to the red hot Plaintiff should be form to follow moving forward. She did a lot wrong over racing on top of the speed but still gave a great kick at the top of the straight and was only run down inside the final 100m by a fast finishing filly that looks destined for black type races in January. Whilst the sectional times weren’t outstanding, I still expect the form to hold up fro that race. She will be better for the experience and has improvement to come learning to settle better.

The Baker 6yo was another that sat on top of the speed and held on well to finish 0.1L 2nd to The Coast winner Know Thyself. The ran 0.5s quicker than Amplify’s win over the same trip the race after. He was 4-weeks between runs and should train on off that effort. If he can find a similar race over 1400m around that BM100 grade he will be hard to beat.Â
