Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Randwick 1/11

After a cracking day of racing at Randwick on Golden Eagle Day, our analyst has black booked three runners that will be winning moving forward.Â
Rotagilla
It should pay to continue to follow the emerging Waller 4yo. He benefited from a much better run today rolling forward from the wide gate to settle 3rd in the small field. It was never in doubt on turning as he streaked away for a 2.1L win. The time was 0.23s quicker than the Four Pillars Midway albeit with first use of the track. Waller stated post race that he aims to get him out to 2000m where he would expect him to win a Listed race.
Brave One
The penny looks to be dropping for the talented Hawkes gelding after settling back in the field over an unsuitable 1100m and hitting the line strongly to finish 2.4L 2nd to the all the way winner Pokerjack. I expect him to improve sharply off that run as he was resuming off 1 trial onto a rain-affected track. The step up to 1200m to 1400m looks to be his sweet spot.

Autumn Glow
No one needs a black book to follow her moving forward but if she wasn’t already, superstar status has been achieved making it 8/8 in the Golden Eagle. J Mac gave her the perfect steer settling a pair forward of midfield 3-wide but finding cover on the back of a hot tempo. She loomed up with the leaders quite quickly before Sepals dug in and looked like making a race out of it from the 300 to 200m before streaking away with a 12.15s final furlong and a 1.2L win.Â
