Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Moonee Valley 21/1
January 23, 2023
Our form analyst has looked over the replays & sectional times from Moonee Valley on Saturday and has placed his list of horses you must follow below.
BERRY BUBBLY
She finished seventh behind Tillotson but arguably could have won had the breaks gone her way in the straight. She was well back on turning but was full of running. Racing Victoria stewards noted she was held up for clear running from the 300 metres to the 200 metres. Again held up from the 100 metres when disappointed for clear running between Jillette and Cotel, which shifted in and went the line not fully tested. She was only beaten 2.45 lengths and she will be better suited over 1200 metres.
CHANDON BURJ
She didn’t really get any chance to build her momentum up in the concluding stages behind Ain’tnodeeldun as she was held up wherever Damien Oliver went on her. Remarkably she still finished on to finish third behind Ain’tnodeeldun.
VIENTIANE
Not much went right for this James Cummings mare. She was brushed by another horse early in the race. Blake Shinn wanted Jamie Kah on Ice Pick Nick to bring her into the race but that didn’t work as he was struggling before the turn. Racing Victoria stewards also noted she was also held up between the 300 metres and the 200 metres mark.
ASCENSION
Nice effort to finish third in a strong form race behind Pounding and Corner Pocket. He travelled well in the run and finished off nicely to finish third over 1600 metres in the style of a horse looking for more ground.
HENNESSY LAD
Probably should have given Peter Moody another winner bar for being blocked for a run in the straight. He will be hard to beat when he next appears against his own age group.
