Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Kembla Grange 19/11
November 21, 2022
Our form analyst has looked over the replays & sectional times from Gong day and has placed his list of horses you must follow below.
DRAGONSTONE
He enjoyed his return to a firm track and he put in his best run for this campaign when he charged home to finish third behind Athelric in the 1000 metres The Warra. He produced the fastest last 600 metres of 32.45 seconds.
WILD PLANET
Brave effort to lead and hang on for fourth in the Gong which was a fast run race. He kept fighting the whole way and he was headed by Surf Dancer but fought back to get in front of him. He was no match for Riodini who had a great run behind him and the swoopers who filled the placings. Being beaten only 1.2 lengths was a meritorious effort.
NUGGET
He ran .46 seconds slower than Riodini did in winning The Gong but he carried 6.5 kilos more and won in an easier fashion. It’s not hard to build a case that he was the best horse to have run at Kembla Grange on Saturday. His Australian debut with his second behind Detonator Jack over 1400 metres at Flemington was also very good. He’s by boom sire Siyouni and has a huge future.
