Black Book: Horses You Must Back Next Start From Warwick Farm 3/12

The replays and sectional times have been analysed from Wednesday’s Warwick Farm meeting. Our analyst has black booked a maiden winner clocking impressive time and an unlucky O’Shea & Charlton gelding.

Ice Kool

The Pfeiffer 3yo was met  with heavy market support prior to his debut in the opener after a big 5L trial win and he didn’t disappoint. He was only away fairly before mustering enough speed to open a 3L lead on settling. He shot clear at the top of the straight and went on with it to record a 3.4L victory. His final 100m was his strongest, which suggests he will he strong enough to step up to 1100m next start. The overall time of 56.31s was 0.14s faster than Swordplay’s impressive 3.5L win in BM72 company later in the day.

Livin’ Thing

The O’Shea & Charlton 4yo’s 1st up run was outstanding settling 1 pair back and being caught all over heels at the top of the straight. A run opened and shut just as quickly as it came and he copped a bad check. By the time he balanced himself up again there was only 150m to go but he still managed to hit the front only to be run down by Hellbent On You getting a clear run at it from the rear. He looks a great bet in similar company moving forward.
