Black Book: Horses You Must Back Next Start From Warwick Farm 22/10
October 22, 2025
The replays and sectional times have been analysed from Wednesday’s Warwick Farm meeting. We’ve picked out a trio of runners that either look ready to break through in midweek grade or are ready to compete in stronger races.Â
Frosty Girl
The Waller mare made it 3 wins from 3 career starts with an impressive 1.5L win at Warwick Farm. She settled a couple of lengths back in the small field of four and worked into it nicely on straightening. She then drew level with Alabama Fox for a nice battle before exploding away the final 100m. She looks set to step up to Saturday company and working her way up to a mile the way she finished off.
Hurstville Zagreb
The O’Shea & Charlton 4yo looks to be back to the form that saw him string back-to-back wins at the beginning of his career after a convincing 3.4L win over a mile at Warwick Farm. He sat on top of the speed and drew away for a sharp win recording a 34.55s final 600m doing it at both ends. He looks ready for Saturday company in the right race in the 1600m to 2000m range.

Crepe MyrtleÂ
The Godolphin mare resumed of Joe Pride over an unsuitable 1000m and off a 43-week layoff after being scratched at the gates in an 1100m the week earlier. She jumped fairly and worked her way up to 3rd by the 600m. She was eventually no match for the impressive Lyles but plugged away well to finish 0.9L 2nd with the 3rd horse 1.2L further back. Stepping up to 1100m to 1200m will be ideal, particularly if they target another midweek race.Â
