Black Book: Horses You Must Back Next Start From Rosehill 29/10
October 29, 2025
The replays and sectional times have been analysed from Wednesday’s Rosehill meeting. Our analyst has black booked an impressive Portelli winner and another Godolphin/Pride partnership that looks destined for black type company.
Long Legs
The Gary Portelli filly was heavily supported on the back of a couple of sharp Warwick Farm trial wins. She crossed an led from the wide gate and never looked like getting beat after pinging away at the top of the straight to score a 1.8L victory. She looks capable of stepping up in grade over the end of the spring.
Taxation
The I Am Invincible filly put another win on the board for the Goldophin and Joe Pride combination. She settled at the rear and looked in trouble at the top of the straight wanting to duck in under pressure. Once Clark had balanced her up, she let down strongly the final 200m to score a tight victory on the line. It was interesting to hear Pride state post race that he believes she will make black type races by the autumn. She looks one to follow through the BM grades.Â

NinetteÂ
I want to stick with Ninette coming out of the same Taxation race after she showed terrific gate speed to lead with ease. The race looked in the bag at the 300m when she was under little pressure and the rest of the field were chasing flat stick. She was disappointing tiring badly the final furlong. The Heavy track 1st up off 1 trial no doubt played some part in that. She looks classy and worth another chance.Â
