The Wootton Bassett colt stepped a stride slow and settled one pair forward of the rear. He tracked into the race along the fence nicely by the turn before copping a a bad squeeze at the 400m losing all of his momentum. When he finally saw clear running at the 200m he closed off with a nice final sectional to finish 3.1L 3rd. His final 600m of 34.22s was the fastest of the race
Mawjood
The Baker gelding looks ready to step up to Saturday grade after the most impressive win of the day. He settled behind the leader and cruised up never looking anything other than the winner blitzing them by 2.6L under the big weight of 61kg. He sets set to peak 3rd up amongst better opposition.
