Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White out for rest of 2021 NFL season after torn ACL
November 27, 2021

The Buffalo Bills came through with a convincing 31-6 win over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, but the win came at a significant price. During the game, Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White tore his anterior cruciate ligament, and is out for the season according to Dan Lyons of Sports Illustrated.Â
The injury White suffered was a non-contact injury. It happened while he was covering Saints wide receiver Marquez Callaway.
Words cannot explain how much of a loss this is for the Bills organization. White is considered one of the top cornerbacks in the National Football League, and the injury leaves the Bills secondary rather vulnerable.
In 2019, White led the NFL with six interceptions. That season he was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career. White then returned to the Pro Bowl in 2020, as he had three interceptions, and had career highs in sacks (1.5), and quarterback hits (three).
In 2021, White had one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. The interception came in the Bills’s 45-17 win over the New York Jets on November 14, the forced fumble came in the Bills’ 43-21 win over the Washington Football Team on September 26, and the fumble recovery came in the Bills’ 38-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Also in 2021, White had six pass deflections, half a sack, 41 combined tackles (27 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles), one tackle for a loss, and one quarterback hit.
With the win, the Bills moved into a first place tie in the AFC East at seven wins and four losses. The New England Patriots are also at 7-4, and can move back into first in the AFC East on Sunday with a win over the Tennessee Titans.
