Warwick Farm Race 4 – Fire
- Trainer: Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes
- Jockey: T Berry
- Barrier: 3
I was taken by the recent return trial of Hawkes 3yo Fire. He took up the running soon after jumping and with a slight squeeze from Berry after turning he kicked clear to win the trial in a very impressive time. The 2nd horse was 2L away and the 3rd horse was a further 3L away.
His previous form in Melbourne is nothing to get too excited about with a 3L maiden win in Bendigo the best of it but I do believe based off the trial he is going well enough to take out this relatively weak BM 72 where there doesn’t appear to be a horse that will challenge him for the lead.
Sixgun impressed when running on over this track and distance last start. Expect him to be charging home late. A quinella with these two horses looks a great play.
Tip: 2 Units Win Fire @$2.35 with TopSport
Warwick Farm Race 7 – Mubariz
- Trainer: C Waller
- Jockey: T Berry
- Barrier: 6
Mubariz has been an import that the Waller yard has rated since arriving nearly 2 years ago. With a few city wins under his belt this looks his best chance to pick up some black type in his first go at 2400m. He found one better in the January Cup last start when finishing 2nd to So You Win. The pair put 4L on 3rd horse Attorney who lines up here.
He should settle just behind the speed and be hard to hold out in the finish.
Tip: 2 UnitS Win Mubariz @$3.5 with TopSport
