Best Of The Best: Our Wednesday Specials – Warwick Farm 12/1
January 11, 2022

Last week we kicked off the year positively with a winner to Stick To Your Guns and Cafe Royale should’ve made it 2 from 2 if not caught 3 wide the trip. This week I’ve found an explosive sprinter dropping right back in grade and a fast finishing gelding from the Hickman yard.

Warwick Farm Race 3 – De Grawin
- Trainer: J Pride
- Jockey: R King
- Barrier: 4
De Grawin looks to be flying since returning from a spell and looks ideally placed coming back to midweek grade here. The Joe Pride mare returned with a dominant 4L trial win on this track before narrowly going down to the highly rated Dragonstone in Saturday grade at Kensington last start. All 4 of her 4 career wins have come on wet tracks so further improvement can be expected. King should take her straight to front and be hard to get past.
Tip: 2 Units Win De Grawin @$3.2 with TopSport
Warwick Farm Race 4 – Travest
- Trainer: G Hickman
- Jockey: T Schiller
- Barrier: 6
Travest comes back to midweek grade here. He is a horse I feel possess more talent than his last couple of runs suggest where he has finished back in the field in midway races at Randwick. In his first two runs this preparation, he has flashed home from the rear in eye catching runs. He is another who races better on wet surfaces and looks to get enough speed on here to be streaming down the middle of the track.
Tip: 1 Unit Win Travest @$7 with TopSport
