Signore Fox is an improved horse this time in after a throat operation. The 5yo Snowden stallion was ultra impressive winning 1st up after a couple of impressive trials when conditions weren’t run to suit.

He was disappointing 2nd up in the G3 Hall Mark at Randwick but considering his 2nd up form reads 6:0-1-0 we can be forgiving of that. Easy Eddie looks to be his only threat but he did marginally beat that horse home last start and it is expected he will improve off that run. Good bet.

Gosford Race 8 – Nimalee

This Matty Smith trained mare is in career best form after winning 2 on the trot to start the preparation, the second coming in the G2 Emancipation. Finishing 9th in the G1 Queen of the Turf at The Championships may not look great on paper but it should be noted that she was only 3.8L away in a massive field behind horses like Probabeel who would blow this field away in one stride.

Carrying 59kg is a slight query but the best horse in the race often wins these races more often than not and I’m happy to take the risk at $6.5.
