Randwick Race 1 –  Larkspur Run

The Cummings yard have a knack for getting these 3yos into BM races with the handicap limit of 52kg and having them perform well. Larkspur Run’s form isn’t outstanding having won impressively at Canterbury last start after breaking through in Newcastle maiden. The horses with slightly better exposed form will have to carry an extra 6-9kg which is a huge advantage for Larkspur Run. She has never raced on a good track which is a slight concern but Shamardal uses produces horses that perform better on drier surfaces.

Randwick Race 7 – Fasika

Form suggests that Kolding and Fasika are the class runners in the G2 Missile Stakes and the race maps to show them controlling the race without much resistance from any other runners. Fasika was impressive winning a recent Group and Listed trial on her home track at Warwick Farm and she appears to be better suited over 1200m and 1st up.

Randwick Race 8 – Remarque

Remarque looks to have the class advantage over this field in the Listed Rosebud. The Snitzel colt was dominant on debut as a 2yo when he blew a field away by 2L at Rosehill and then finished 2L behind Anamoe who went on to fly home for second in the Golden Slipper field and then destroyed a Sires Produce field.

Since returning to training Remarque has won 2 trials in impressive fashion. In the latest he sat 3 lengths off the leader at the 200m and then mowed through the line late to win by 1L. There looks to be a touch of class about this fella.
