Best Of The Best – Our 3 Best Bets For This Saturday 26/12
December 26, 2020
The Summer Cup headlines Boxing Day racing at Randwick with a decent card of runners. With the rail returning to 2m out from the true position, after being out 5m the previous meeting, I am expecting this to favour on pace runners with fresh running lanes on the inside on a day where the track has come up a soft 5 and rain continues to fall in Sydney.
The track bias may fade later in the day but we will look to find a leader with a great chance early in the day.

Randwick Race 3 – Pitchfork
Pitchfork maps to get an easy lead in a race that is closer to a midweek city race rather than a Saturday race based on form. Last start the 4yo gelding finished 2nd at Kensington and looks to be well placed here with Hugh Bowman in the saddle. Zing looks to be his biggest threat but will have to make a lot of ground late.
Tip: 2 Units Win Pitchfork @ $3 Â With TopSport
Randwick Race 6 – Best of Days
The G3 Sumer Cup is the feature race of the day and this Godolphin trained gelding looks ready to win at decent odds after placing in the Villiers and running a nice race in The Gong. Potential track bias makes it very tempting to back the free rolling Greysful Glamour, who should get an easier lead now that Wolfe has been scracted and Adrian Bott has declared they could potentially take a sit with Vadiyann. However a wet track and a 2kg swing in the weights is enough to side with Best of Days who is $8.5 in the market.Â

Randwick Race 8 – Ellsberg
Ellsberg was spectacular winning a BM 72 at Rosehill by 4.3L last start and co-trainers Ryan and Alexiou have found a nice race to progress the 3 yo colt into with a BM 78 where he only goes up half a kilo. The form of the NJC Spring Champion Stakes at Newcastle continues to be proven after The Elanora won nicely and heads to a strong race at Gold Coast today. The wide barrier shouldn’t be too much of a concern as he will press forward as he did last start and he should be hard to run down late.
Tip: 3 Units Win Ellsberg @ $3.3Â With TopSport
