For the second straight day in the National Football League, there has a significant trade reported. One day after the Kansas City Chiefs traded cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams, it has been reported by the Associated Press that the Chicago Bears are trading wide receiver D.J. Moore of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the Buffalo Bills.
Also in the deal are two draft picks. The Bears are to receive a second round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and the Bills are to receive a fifth round draft pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Moore is joining his third NFL franchise. He has played five seasons with the Carolina Panthers from 2018 to 2022, and the last three seasons with the Bears. Moore was actually traded from the Panthers to the Bears for a first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on March 10, 2023. The Panthers drafted quarterback Bryce Young with their pick.Â
This past season Moore had 50 catches for 682 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He also had 15 rushes for 79 rushing yards and another major score. The rushing touchdown was for 17 yards in a wild 47-42 Bears win over the Cincinnati Bengals on November 2. In the same game, Moore had a two-yard touchdown pass to star quarterback Caleb Williams in another remarkable play. This was Moore’s first career touchdown pass.
The Bills have been without a star wide receiver for a while. They have a great quarterback in Josh Allen, but in the last while the Bills have not had a stellar receiving group for Allen to pass the football to.
