Chiefs trade cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Rams

According to Rogers Sportsnet on Wednesday, there was a trade made in the National Football League between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams. The Chiefs have traded cornerback Trent McDuffie of Westminster, California to the Rams for four draft picks. The draft picks are the first round pick (29th overall), fifth round pick and sixth round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and the third round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
McDuffie has played the last four seasons with the Chiefs. In 2025. he had 63 combined tackles (45 solo tackles and 18 assisted tackles), two tackles for a loss, one quarterback hit, one interception for two yards, one forced fumble, one sack and seven pass deflections.
For his career, McDuffie has played 56 games, and had 246 combined tackles (178 solo tackles and 68 assisted tackles), 12 tackles for a loss, 15 quarterback hits, three interceptions for two yards, 34 pass deflections, eight forced fumbles and five and a half sacks.
Also while with the Chiefs, McDuffie won two Super Bowls. He won his first in 2023 and his second in 2024. In the 2023 NFL postseason, McDuffie led the league with one forced fumble, and in the 2024 NFL postseason, he led the league with seven pass deflections.
McDuffie played his college football at the University of Washington. He was then the Chiefs’s first round pick, 21st overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft. One player who disapproved of the trade was Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. According to Nate Taylor of ESPN, Mahomes voiced his disapproval with only one word on X, and that word was simply “Damn.”
