Ascot Selections & Staking Plan: Wednesday 10th November

Race 1 – 1:24PM TABTOUCH BETTER YOUR BET MAIDEN (1200 METRES)

3. Ciscojoe – 9. Seduce Me – 4. Without Reg – 7. Devil Girl

Race 2 – 1:59PM GLENROY CHAFF MAIDEN (1500 METRES)

9. Galactic Storm – 10. Paigey’s Turn – 4. Dannemora – 2. Freedomofthepress

Race 3 – 2:35PM COOL RIDGE HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

1. Cross Statement – 10. Powerful – 6. Ambergate Rose – 7. Let’s Cut Loose

Cross Statement

Buttering up on Cross Statement here. Had a little setback last week when accepted to run midweek but confident the stable have got him over that and she’s here ready to run a big race. She’s shown plenty of ability over her career and on figures has put up much better numbers than any of these more consistently. The first up run she was great, only grabbed late by Mercanto who has since won a CL3 and looks a very progressive horse, think that’s very strong form. Holly should be able to take him to the top with relative ease from the draw and actually think the 1100m suits better than the 1200m. Think he’s going to be very hard to beat.

2 Units WIN

Race 4 – 3:10PM AMELIA PARK HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

4. Safety Bay – 1. New Amsterdam – 7. Doowahdiddy – 6. Sun Chacen

Safety Bay

Respect to Safety Bay, she is flying. Far from disgraced in a 66+ two back before last start was grabbed in a CL3 by a horse already mentioned in Mercanto who looks to be going places with a proper gap back to 4th. I’ve already explained why I’m with the favourite, but simply can’t be losing on her here given she maps to get it so soft out in front. I have my queries of a genuinely run 1400m contest but it doesn’t look the likely set up here with Beaux able to dictate. Chopping out.

3 Units WIN

Race 5 – 3:50PM BYRON BAY PREMIUM LAGER HANDICAP (1500 METRES)

7. Pat’s Got Sass – 1. On Red Alert – 10. High Mist – 3. Native Chimes

Pat’s Got Sass

Gut feel told me to earmark Pat’s Got Sass as a horse to follow once he got out to a trip over the 1400-1600m range and here we are for the first time in the 3YO’s career. Big striding type with a high cruising speed and a short turn of foot burst, coming out of a very high-rating Belgravia Stakes that has produced It’sarayday (Fairetha winner), Searchin Roc’s (2nd in Burgess Queen) and Flying Missile (3rd in Burgess Queen), although his run might have been disappointing on face value, it’s hot form. Maps for a terrific run for Chris Parnham from the gate just tucked in behind the speed and think on raw ability if he turns up, he can disposing of these as a 3YO up against the older horses.

2.75 Units WIN

On Red Alert

Don’t want to be losing on On Red Alert who is in a current purple patch of form. Brings much superior form to the table here than most of these and think that God Has Chosen form from that 60+ he contested last start will more than stand-up, hitting the line alongside Beret who is also racing very well in better grade than this. There’s some other speed influences here but Laqdar will know he doesn’t have to lead on him, can either take it up or take the drop in behind with the cut-away in play and looks a really nice map for him.

1.25 Unit WIN

Race 6 – 4:25PM HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY DANNY MORTON HANDICAP (1800 METRES)

1. Jarman – 2. Cape Reign – 3. Alimentaria – 7. Red Hot Hope

Race 7 – 5:00PM CROWN PERTH HANDICAP (1800 METRES)

4. Dark Lass – 3. Beanie – 5. The Roan Ranger – 2. Pambella

Race 8 – 5:38PM MUMM CHAMPAGNE HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

3. My Squeeze Louise – 10. My Dilemma – 7. Kentucky Blue – 8. Red Cadillac
