Amari Cooper settling into new surroundings in Cleveland
September 23, 2022

After three games of the 2022 National Football League regular season, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper of Miami, Florida has been very productive. So far he has made 19 catches for 219 yards and two touchdowns, after Thursday night’s win where the Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-17.
Cooper was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Cleveland Browns on March 11 in a deal that involved draft picks. Due to the fact the Cowboys have a problem with wide receiver depth at the moment behind CeeDee Lamb, the Cooper trade simply makes minimal sense at this time.
However, the Cowboys loss has been the Browns gain. It is clear that Cooper is generating chemistry with Cleveland’s temporary quarterback, Jacoby Brissett. It will be very interesting to see if Cooper is able to develop the same type of connection when DeShaun Watson returns from him 11 game suspension later this year.
The Browns meanwhile were able to bounce back nicely from their embarrassing 31-30 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday. Cleveland had a 13 point lead with under two minutes left before the Jets had two late touchdowns to record the W. After three games, Cleveland is 2-1. They won their opening game to start the year as they beat the Carolina Panthers 26-24.

The Steelers dropped to 1-2. They shocked the NFL world with a 23-20 overtime win over the Cincinnati Bengals in week one, before losing 17-14 last week at home to New England.
The big story in the AFC North is the fact the reigning AFC champions Cincinnati Bengals are 0-2. A major reason for the Bengals struggles is because their offensive line has been terrible. Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow has already been sacked 13 times to start the year.
