2025 Super Bowl Preview: Our Expert Tips & Staking Plan

We are finally here, the Super Bowl. The final game of a great NFL season is upon us and we have a fantastic game as the Kansas City Chiefs look for three in a row against a Philadelphia Eagles team looking for revenge for the 2023 Super Bowl.

I will likely be adding some more picks before the games so make sure to check back.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles

This feels like the Chiefs toughest test in this quest for the threepeat. The Eagles feel as complete of a team as we have in the NFL. Defensively, they are so talented. It is a young unit but they are absolutely ferocious and going up against the Chiefs OL, which at times can be shaky, will maybe be the key match up of this whole game. If Jalen Carter and co can disrupt Patrick Mahomes rhythm, something not many have been able to do in his NFL career, then the Eagles could be lifting the Lombardi later today.

Saquon Barkley has come into the Eagles and just taken the offence to another level. Even with Jalen Hurts and the passing game being a little up and down at times, Barkley just makes this offence one of the hardest to contain in the league. Throughout this playoffs he has broken off big runs that have swung the game in the Eagles favour. But up against this Chiefs defence will be his toughest test of the playoffs, and maybe all year. They are a top eight rush defence but you know they will have a great plan for Barkley.

The Chiefs plodded through the regular season, not often getting out of first gear, and still ended with the best record in the league. They do just enough to get through the regular season without exerting too much energy and then come alive in the playoffs as we have seen.

Patrick Mahomes just feels inevitable at this point. He has never been knocked out before the Championship game and is now going for his fourth Super Bowl ring in just seven years as a starter. He is very much on track to be the greatest of all time already. His processing is just so fast and matched up with his incredible arm talent, he is not often going to lose the game for his team and will force the opponents to simply outscore the Chiefs. With Travis Kelce looking like his old self, as well as maybe his best set of receivers since Tyreek Hill departed, and perhaps ever, this Chiefs offence will almost certainly find a way to put up points, even against the best defence in the league.

This game is a really tough one to call. I have backed the Eagles a lot this season with a lot of success, and in an earlier picks article I said to back them to win the Super Bowl, but now it is here, I just can’t help but lean towards the Chiefs. They have been there and done it, multiple times. They have the best player in football and maybe the best coach in the game right now. This has the chance to be one of the great Super Bowls, but in the end, I think the Chiefs come out on top with Mahomes getting his fourth ring and fourth Super Bowl MVP.
