WESTS TIGERS VS CANTERBURY BULLDOGS – FRIDAY MAY 20, 6:00PM, LEICHARDT OVAL
After Trent Barrett resigned as coach on Monday the Bulldogs have just four days to regroup ahead of their clash with the Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.
They have scored just 9.6 points per game – despite the efforts of Matt Burton and Josh Addo-Carr – and it’s hard to see that improving in the short-term under an interim coach. Meanwhile, three-quarter Brent Naden has jumped ship immediately to this week’s opponents – and has been drafted straight into the Tigers’ reserves.
The Tigers are level with the Bulldogs on the NRL’s bottom rung with a 2-8 record. They are back on a three-match losing streak but at least competed in a hard-fought defeat to the Dragons (12-6) and high-scoring losses to the Sea Eagles (36-22) and Cowboys (36-12).
Canterbury’s 2021 wooden spoon season hit a high point with a 38-0 final-round rout of Wests Tigers at Redcliffe. This is the clubs’ maiden clash at Leichhardt Oval, where the Tigers have won just two of their last seven.
PARRAMATTA EELS VS MANLY SEA EAGLES – FRIDAY MAY 20, 7:55PM, COMMBANK STADIUM
Both sides are coming off Magic Round defeats, a third in four weeks for Manly, so the stakes will be high and CommBank Stadium is sure to be buzzing.
Manly is on a three-match winning streak against Parramatta, with Tom Trbojevic running riot in 2021 victories in Round 11 (28-6) and Round 22 (56-10). The Eels boast an impressive 25-9 record at Western Sydney Stadium and are out to atone for a shock Easter Monday loss to the Tigers in their last match there.

ST GEORGE-ILLAWARRA DRAGONS VS NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS – SATURDAY MAY 21, 3:00PM, NESTRATA JUBILEE STADIUM
A pair of 4-6 teams who will be at a very uncomfortable crossroads if they come up empty in Round 11.
Anthony Griffin’s men went toe-to-toe with the Gold Coast for 89 minutes before Jamayne Isaako’s try secured a golden point victory for the Titans.
The Warriors were blown off the park in the first half but four tries in 15 minutes dragged them back within two points with two minutes to play but the Bunnies held on.
The Warriors have a 2-7 record at Jubilee Oval but won their most recent clash with the Dragons at the venue, a courageous 20-14 victory in Round 6 last year in which they completed 40 of 41 sets.
- 1 unit Dragons -4.5 @ $2.00 BET NOW
NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS VS MELBOURNE STORM – SATURDAY MAY 21, 5:30PM, QUEENSLAND COUNTRY BANK STADIUM
The Cowboys are riding a five-game winning streak and will relish the opportunity to make a statement against one of the heavyweights of the competition on Saturday night.
The 8-2 Storm’s six-match tear – in which they averaged 40 points a game – ended with a 32-6 loss to Penrith in Brisbane, hindered by the absence of Jahrome Hughes and Ryan Papenhuyzen. Halfback Hughes returns this week, but Mr. Fix-it Tyran Wishart will remain at fullback. Nelson Asofa-Solomona has been ruled out.
The Storm are on a 12-match winning streak against the Cowboys, though four of the last five encounters were decided by eight points or less. The streaking Storm were pushed to the brink in a 20-16 victory in Townsville in Round 19 last year.
- 4 units Storm -5.5 @ $2.00 BET NOW
SYDNEY ROOSTERS VS PENRITH PANTHERS – SATURDAY MAY 21, 7:35PM, SCG
The Roosters have been something of an enigma in 2022, beating the Cowboys, Eels, Sea Eagles and Broncos but losing to the Bulldogs, Dragons and Knights.
The Tricolours’ attack has clicked in victories over the Titans (44-16) and Eels (31-24), with Sam Walker and Luke Keary finding their groove, and James Tedesco and Joey Manu producing the goods as per usual. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was a monster up front as the Roosters held off the Eels.
Penrith responded to its first loss – a 22-20 home defeat to Parramatta – with a 32-6 blowout over a depleted Melbourne. Isaah Yeo and Nathan Cleary were excellent again, but dynamic performances from Jarome Luai and Viliame Kikau were arguably more satisfying takeaways.
The Panthers have won their last four against the Roosters, including a pair of victories in 2021: a 38-12 thumping at Penrith in Round 15 and a 20-14 result at Suncorp Stadium in Round 21.
- 2 units Panthers -9.5 @ $2.00 BET NOW
SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS VS CANBERRA RAIDERS – SUNDAY MAY 22, 2:00PM, APEX OVAL
South Sydney travel to Dubbo’s Apex Oval on Saturday to host the Raiders in a clash they’ll be looking to turn around last year’s result at the regional venue.
The Raiders have won six of their last nine against the Rabbitohs, but Souths took out their sole 2021 clash – a 34-20 win at GIO Stadium in Round 8.
- 1 units Rabbitohs -4.5 @ $2.00 BET NOW

GOLD COAST TITANS VS CRONULLA SHARKS – SUNDAY MAY 22, 4:05PM, CBUS SUPER STADIUM
Cronulla travel to Queensland for a second consecutive week to take on a Titans side on Sunday who finally tasted some success last week after five consecutive losses.
Nicho Hynes returns to halfback in a smart move by coach Craig Fitzgibbon. Former rugby sevens star Lachlan Miller is in the No.1 hotseat. Dale Finucane (knee/head knock) is a big loss, but Andrew Fifita is a pretty handy player to bring into the 17.
Gold Coast halted a five-game slide with a gutsy golden point win over St George Illawarra in the Brisbane wet. Returning fullback Jayden Campbell was the catalyst for the drought-breaker, magnificent all-round after seven weeks watching on from the sideline. Moe Fotuaika can also take a decent chunk of the credit.
The Sharks have won their last six against the Titans by an average margin of 18.6 points. Last season’s sole encounter saw Cronulla power away to a 38-10 victory in Coffs Harbour with Ronaldo Mulitalo bagging a double.
