2021 NFL Week 2 Preview: Our Expert Tips & Staking Plan

We were a 49ers collapse away from a perfect Sunday. It was still a great start to the season and with some great games to get our teeth into, we can hopefully build on that.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Chicago Bears

Just like in week one, I am trusting my preseason judgements and trying not to overreact to one week of play. I think the Bears – until they move to Justin Fields – are a lost cause. Andy Dalton just is not good enough to lead an NFL team and they do not have the defence to carry the load any more. The Bengals will open things up for Joe Burrow this week and Tee Higgins in particular could benefit.

Los Angeles Rams @ Indianapolis Colts

This one is more down to my faith in the Rams than being down on the Colts. Their defence is excellent and Matt Stafford showed that he has adjusted to life in LA quickly with an Offensive Player of the Week performance. There is so much talent on both sides of the ball and while the Colts are a good team, they are not a great one and the Rams should just be too strong.

New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers

The Saints have a top tier defence and if Jameis Winston can be even close to good then they are going to be a real threat to everyone. They aren’t going to win every game as they did a week ago, but there was little from the Panthers that made me think they have what it takes to win this one. I think they are a young team that is moving in the right direction but are at least a year short. The Saints can win this one, and win it comfortably.

Tennessee Titans @ Seattle Seahawks

Those of you who backed these tips last week will know I am down on the Titans. I do regret not backing them last week and I will not pass up the opportunity again here. The Titans pass defence may well be the worst in the league and it is hard for me to see how they slow down Russell Wilson and the passing attack. I will be adding some player props here as I want every piece of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett I can – the former could have great value off the back of a quieter week. For now we will just take the Seahawks against the spread.

Oakland Raiders @ Pittsburgh Steelers

You need to jump on this one quickly. Josh Jacobs has been ruled out so there is some value in the other Raiders running backs. While Kenyan Drake is likely to get the majority of work, Peyton Barber could get a lot of the goal line work. He is a huge price to score a touchdown but the price is not likely to last.
