Washington Football Team sign safety Bobby McCain

According to John Keim of ESPN on Friday, the Washington Football Team has signed safety Bobby McCain. The native of Sylacauga, Alabama signed a one-year deal. The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
McCain had spent the last six seasons with the Miami Dolphins prior to being released by Miami on May 6. In 2020, he had 46 combined tackles (39 solo tackles and seven assisted tackles), two quarterback hits, one interception for 19 yards, and five pass deflections.
In six seasons with the Dolphins, McCain has had 254 combined tackles (200 solo tackles and 54 assisted tackles), nine tackles for a loss, seven quarterback hits, four sacks, seven interceptions for 78 yards, 30 pass deflections, and one forced fumble.
McCain attended his college football at the University of Memphis. He was Miami’s fifth pick, 145th overall in the 2015 National Football League Draft. During his high school career at Oxford High School in Alabama, McCain played alongside future Pro Bowl linebacker Kwon Alexander of the New Orleans Saints. Alexander reached the Pro Bowl while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017.
The Washington Football Team has been busy in the offseason in their attempt to defend their NFC East Division title in 2021. The team made the playoffs, and won their division last year, even though they had a losing record of seven wins and nine losses. Among the other players Washington has acquired are left tackle Charles Leno Jr., wide receiver Curtis Samuel, and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Leno Jr. played last season with the Chicago Bears, Samuel was with the Carolina Panthers, and like McCain, Fitzpatrick was with the Dolphins.
