Warwick Farm Best Selection & Value Play 5/2

Midweek Sydney racing returns to Warwick Farm this week. A talented Ron Quinton mare resumes and should be suited to getting back onto a fast surface. A John Thompson stayer looks a great value play.

Best Selection: R4- To The Extreme

To The Extreme is a talented Quinton mare. Last time she raced on a Good surface she settled towards the rear and bolted in over 1100m at Canterbury, which is tough to do. I did note that she was a potential Saturday grade horse after that win. She should be suited by a hot tempo in this race.

Her 3 subsequent starts have been disappointing without being too far away. They have all been on wet tracks and she should of won with even luck at Hawkesbury to round out her previous preparation. I expect her to be a bet on a Good surface.

Value Selection: R5- California Grass

California Grass just needs to reproduce her last start 3rd behind Tajanis and Gilded Water to be right in this. She should be better for that run being 4-weeks between runs on that occasion. Thompson seems to have her going as well as ever with a 1.4L win over 2200m at this track 3 runs back. She should be suited running on in a truly run 2400m race.
