Warwick Farm Best Selection & Value Play 19/2
February 19, 2025

A really high quality midweek meeting greets us at Warwick Farm today as you’d expect gearing into the autumn carnival. Our analyst has found a Baker 3yo that looks set to be hard to beat stepping up to 1400m and a middle distance runner looking to go back-to-back.
Best Selection: R3- Majorca Sunset
Majorca Sunset is a gelding from the Baker yard that I want to be following. He went into the blackbook after he was strung up on heels until the 50m and rocketed through the line over 1200m at Randwick on Boxing Day.
He was freshened up and sent to Wagga for a Super Maiden after an eye-catching trial win. He settled towards the rear there and hit the line really nicely for 2nd. He will appreciate stepping up to 1400m at Warwick Farm jumping from a good gate. The extra speed coming out of what was already looking like a moderate tempo is a concern.

Value Selection: R5- Don Pedro
Don Pedro looks way over the odds in early markets. He was a dominant 1.2L winner over this track/distance last start and gets the blinkers on, which is always a sign of improvement to come with runners from the Baker yard. He does have to carry an extra 2kg but I think he is well placed to carry that. He gets a great map settling in behind the speed.
