Dean Watling has reviewed the times and replays from the trials over the past week and has given a list of horses you should follow when they return to the races.
Chilliwack
- Warwick Farm 21/11/19Â
- Trial – 798m
- Time – Overall: 47.53 L600: 34.47
Exceed and Excel 2yo went about his second trial impressively taking it out in a nice time. Looked very relaxed in his stride under McDonald’s commanded, great early sign for 2yo’s.
Did it a lot better than the second horse and showed a ton of improvement from the first trial where trial winner Hinchbeast came out to win on debut. Follow.Â
Blazing
- Hawkesbury 19/11/19Â
- Trial – 1000m
- Time – Overall: 59.96 L600: 33.98
Open trial where the lightly trained 4yo Blazing did it very impressively. Could easily have gone unnoticed with 4/5 horses fighting it out in the straight but he was untouched the entire.
O’Hara struggled to hold him, looked to have gears to give. Loved the final 100m where challenged by horses off the bit and responded himself and wanted to win. Only trial over the 1000m to break 34 seconds, impressive. Boast a 3rd to Sir Elton last prep and has come back better.Â
Celandine
- Hawkesbury 19/11/19Â
- Trial – 1000mÂ
- Time – Overall: 1.00.05 L600: 34.25Â
The Medaglia D’oro 3yo un-raced filly steps out for her 4th ever trail. She showed a clean pair of shoes where she showed ability. She took care if the maiden class trial with ease.
Berry took her off the rails at the top of the straight and aloud her to work through her gears comfortably, that she did. Coming right over the top under a hold very impressively. Can aim up in a nice maiden.Â
Masked Crusader
- Hawkesbury 19/11/19Â
- Trial – 800m
- Time – Overall: 47.17 L600: 32.88
This Hawks trained 3yo un-raced gelding looks the real deal. Wasn’t the biggest eye-catching trial but was taken by the makeup and stride of this horse, looks a strong robust type. The trial was solid when relaxing nicely, not asked for an effort and look very comfortable with plenty left in the tank. One to follow.Â
