The Portland Trail Blazers received a massive hit on Tuesday as it has been reported by Rogers Sportsnet that Canadian shooting guard Shaedon Sharpe of London, Ontario would miss four to six weeks with a stress fracture in his left fibula. Sharpe has already not played the last 19 days for Portland since suffering the injury in a dominant 135-115 Trail Blazers win over the Memphis Grizzlies on February 6. In that time, the Trail Blazers have had a record of three wins and four losses.
At the time of the injury against the Grizzlies, Sharpe had not much of an impact. He only scored two points (two free throws) in 13 minutes and 55 seconds worth of action.
Sharpe is the second Canadian in the National Basketball Association to suffer an injury over the last week. On Sunday, the Associated Press reported that Phoenix Suns small forward Dillon Brooks of Mississauga, Ontario would be out four to six weeks with a broken hand.Â
In 2025-26, Sharpe is having a career year when it comes to points. He is averaging 21.4 points per game. Sharpe also has 4.4 rebounds per game, 2.6 assists per game and 1.4 steals per game. Sharpe’s field goal percentage is .456, his three point percentage was .340 and free throw percentage was .784.
Anyway you look at it, this is a significant loss for the Trail Blazers. Sharpe is second in scoring for the Trail Blazers in 2025-26. The only player who was averaging more points per game is All-Star small forward Deni Avdija of Beit Zera, Israel, who is averaging 24.4 points per game.
Portland is at 28 wins and 31 losses. They are ninth place in the Western Conference.
