TPC River Highlands expected to be more difficult in 2024

This past weekend, the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut played extremely easy. It simply was not a challenge as various records were broken. On Wednesday, it was announced that club officials are looking at making significant changes to make the course more challenging according to the Associated Press.
Just how easy was TPC River Highlands over the last week? Well, Keegan Bradley of Woodstock, Vermont won the 2023 Travelers Championship with a winning score of -23. Bradley posted the fourth lowest score among all PGA Tour champions in 2023. Jon Rahm of Barrika, Spain was at -27 when he won the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Maui and the American Express in La Quinta, California in January. Tony Finau of Salt Lake City, Utah was at -24 when he won the Mexico Championship in April.
Notable achievements were set after the second and third rounds in Cromwell. After 36 holes, Denny McCarthy of Takoma Park, Maryland was at -15. The overall score of 125 (60 in round one and 65 in round two) was the fifth lowest score in PGA Tour history after the first two rounds. Then after 54 holes on Saturday, Bradley and Chez Reavie of Wichita, Kansas became the first two golfers in history to post scores of 64 or lower in each of the first three rounds of a PGA tournament. Bradley had a first round score of eight-under-par, a second round score of seven-under-par, and a third round score of six-under-par. Reavie had a first round score of six-under-par, followed by back-to-back scores of seven-under-par.
