Top five storylines from Week 7 of 2021 NFL regular season

Just when you thought Tom Brady had done everything possible in professional football, he does something even more miraculous. Here are the top five headlines from week seven.

5) Jets offense continues to stink.

Just how bad is the New York Jets’ offense? They have not scored a single point in the first quarter in their first six games this season. On Sunday, the Jets offense or defense did not show up as they were clobbered 54-13 by the New England Patriots. The last team not to score a single point in the first quarter of their first six games were the 2008 Detroit Lions according to ESPN.

4) Packers red hot after a terrible opener.

The Green Bay Packers became the first team in NFL history to win their next six games after losing their season opener by 35+ points. After getting their butt kicked by the New Orleans Saints in week one by a score of 38-3, they have beaten the Detroit Lions 35-17, the San Francisco 49ers 30-28, the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17, the Cincinnati Bengals 25-22, the Chicago Bears 24-14, and the Washington Football Team 24-10. On Sunday, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 27 of 35 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns.

3) Matt Stafford beats his old team.

In an intriguing game on the weekend, the Los Angeles Rams beat the Detroit Lions 28-19. The reason for the intrigue is because in the offseason the Rams and Lions made a gigantic trade as they dealt quarterbacks who were former first overall draft picks. The Lions acquired Jared Goff and the Rams acquired Matt Stafford. On Sunday, Stafford completed 28 of 41 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns. It was a huge day for Cooper Kupp. The Rams wideout had 10 catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

2) Cincinnati Bengals move into first place in the AFC North.

In a battle for first place in the AFC North, the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Baltimore Ravens 41-17. The connection that Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase is developing on the field is magical. Chase had 201 yards receiving, while Burrow had 416 yards passing. So far this season, Chase has 754 receiving yards, the most ever by a player after his first seven NFL games.

1) Tom Brady throws his 600th career touchdown pass.

The amazing statistical achievements keep coming for the greatest football player of all-time. On Sunday, Tom Brady threw his 600th career touchdown pass as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hammered the Chicago Bears 38-3. Brady threw four touchdown passes in all, including three to Mike Evans. Brady now has 602 touchdown passes in his career. Drew Brees is second all-time with 571.
